Just received this e-mail....

I want to thank the IT Department for all of there help and such a fast response. We are able to update all the info for the badges so we can use the system. I also want to apologize to them, because we need to report issues through their Help Desk since this is the system they use to complete tasks. I am informing my staff that if they have any IT concerns that they must be through their approved system. I myself have went around this system in the past and I also need to use their system.


It finally occurred to them we do not fix things or know about them by osmosis!!! Holy fucking shit!!!

Haha nice.  I hate when people try to circumvent the help desk and just walk in on us.  I keep saying we need to be moved in the portables.  If people have to walk outside in the snow to come see us, they might consider just calling the help desk instead.

I got a ticket forwarded to my group today that was opened on the 13th, and is 7 days past the SLA.  Lovely.  Then if we resolve the issue and close it, we look like the bad guys for taking so long.  They don't blame the group that sat on it for 5 days before forwarding it to some other team.
