Plastic - great bags for cleaning the litter box. Double-bagged, of course.

Won't someone think of the turtles?? I prefer paper when bringing home some stew turtles - they don't seem to mind the cool, calm brown paperbags. Keeps them calm until I lop their heads off.

well NOW it is, but it wasn't for a long time. Something like 90% of the paper used in the states is harvested from renewable tree farms. Clear cutting and forest harvesting still exist, but they've been cut way WAY down. We're on the right track. No need for the fucking tree huggers to bother breathing anymore.

that's really the way to do it. although i am SO cheap that i often don't bring my own bag and then I use my plastic grocery bags as liners for my trash can so i don't have to buy trash bags.

The reusable cloth bags are all too small. They are even smaller than the too small plastic bags. Fuck them and their tree hugging bullsit. Give me a decent size clioth bag, like about the size of a 55 pound potato sack, and I'll use them. Until then they can kiss my rosey red ass and upchuck on the ingredients I spew into their world saving mouths.
Yeh, fuck them!

I bought my reusable bags at the zoo, of all places. I refuse to buy the ones with a grocery store name on them, until they pay me to advertise for them. The ones I got at the zoo are about twice the size of the ones Walmart sells. But I have to watch the stupid clerks, who want to make them as heavy as possible.

We also use boxes to pack our groceries in them - they are free for all, and we can recycle when we go home..
I agree with the Canine, cloth bags are too small for groceries, but they are just the right size for library books:)

You guys are looking for cloth bags in the wrong places. I have them in every size from "hold a carton of milk" to "2 weeks of groceries". Also in a range of materials from cotton to canvas.

I don't own any cloth bags. When I go to Trader Joe's, I get the paper bags and then use those bags for holding my recyclables until pick up day. So they get recycled. The plastic bags get used as trash can liners for the small cans in the bathrooms.
